When it comes to new roofing, there are a number of choices to make. How long does it take, APP or EPDM and what does it cost? Quickly watertight with new roofing!
Protection
Unfortunately, roofing does not last forever and sometimes it is just gone and it’s time for new roofing. If this is the case, annoying problems can occur such as leakage, wood rot, and worse. Let’s see if problems and possibilities for a flat roof. The first roof is made in three planes and the disadvantage is that water remains on it. Don’t you want this? Then a blue roof might be something for you.
Roofing types
You have these choices for finishing:
- Plastic roofing such as EPDM and here you can see the EPDM costs
- Bituminous (APP) tar and bituminous roofing materials, such as liquid bitumen; roofing felt. The lifespan of a bitumen roof is on average around 25 years.
- A green roof or Brown roof/roof garden (often in combination with the above)
- Grass roof
An extensive green roof is often easier to install than an intensive green roof. Many municipalities even provide subsidies for the construction of a green roof. This makes a green roof cheaper and more attractive.
Flat roof
Replacing a complete roof is quite a bit of work. Because the question of whether you only need new rolls of material and insulation for the flat roof or a completely new roof is difficult to see. This is because the roof is not yet “open”. And that is unfortunately difficult but very important because a roof is a vulnerable part and will not leak less, but more if you ignore it. Fortunately, you can do a lot yourself to keep costs under control. Some roofing materials can help with indoor temperature control, such as white roofing materials including white bitumen.
Repair
You actually want to prevent a leaking roof through a timely roof inspection, but in practice, it is often discovered too late and you then have to arrange someone quickly to get the roof closed. Unfortunately, it is best to avoid experiencing it because a roof is a vulnerable part.
Leakage
If the flat roof is no longer in good condition, it can start to leak and unfortunately, you have to take measures. Fortunately, you can do quite a lot yourself to keep the costs under control. Everyone needs a roof over their head and if that gets worse that is difficult because sooner or later something has to be done about it. It is also good to keep an eye on a dormer window, leakage can also occur with a dormer window. To prevent leaks, you can opt for a waterproof roof covering, such as TPO roofing and Bitumen.
Bitumen roof
If, over time, minor damage occurs in the bitumen roofing, these are fairly easy to repair yourself. Or call in a professional company that can repair the bitumen roof, or possibly replaces the bitumen roof.
Maintenance
It is therefore important to ensure that your roof remains in good condition. Some do this by laying gravel on top so that the UV radiation of the sun does not affect the roof. You can also occasionally let an xx1toto extra layer burn over the roof as a preventive measure. Then you have less risk of a leaking roof at a low cost. Roof tile sheets are also a good option that does not require much maintenance. A pent roof requires less maintenance compared to a flat roof.
Asbestos
Unfortunately, the lifespan is not infinite, not even the best roofing material, and it must be replaced at some point. Then the question is immediately what can be left behind, because the more that is, the cheaper. There can be several reasons to have to replace it, such as asbestos in the roof, old/bad beams, wood rot, and a sagging roof.
